Charlie Meek Tutoring

Bespoke 1-to-1 Mathematics tutoring from Key Stage 3 to pre-university

About me

I'm a third-year Mathematics BSc student at University College London, and I bring a unique advantage to tutoring: having gone through the GCSE and A-level curriculums myself in the recent past, I understand exactly what today's exams demand.

Over the past two years, I've tutored a range of GCSE and A-level Maths students, helping them build stronger foundations, sharpen their exam technique, and grow in confidence.

This first-hand, up-to-date experience means my teaching is closely aligned with how students are actually assessed now, rather than relying on outdated approaches.

I'm passionate about breaking down challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps, and I take real satisfaction in helping students build both the skills and the confidence to excel in their exams.

My philosophy

My teaching is built around a simple but effective cycle: teach, practise, assess.

In each session, I like to explain concepts thoroughly, working through examples step by step until the underlying logic genuinely clicks - not just memorised methods.

Between sessions, students are given personalised practice work to reinforce what we've covered and build confidence tackling the problems.

Alongside this, I run regular progress checks using mock exam questions and past papers, so we can track improvement over time and identify any gaps early, well before they become a problem in the real exam.

Hear from others

Tom A-level Student

"The sessions gave me a much greater understanding of the subjects and how to answer exam questions more effectively. My confidence has increased a lot, which showed in my A-levels. I'd rate my experience a 9 out of 10 - it was very helpful for multiple topics, and flexible with time slots for sessions."

Karis GCSE Student

"I've become more confident in my answers and gained a better knowledge of topics I really struggled with. My exam confidence has definitely improved since starting tutoring. I'd rate my experience an 8 out of 10 — he's got a very good understanding and is great at explaining difficult topics."

Zain GCSE Student

"I've managed to understand and use what I've learnt to improve my grades significantly - I went from a grade 6 to a grade 8 in my most recent mocks, and my confidence has increased a lot. I no longer dread exams the way I used to. The sessions were genuinely excellent: past papers were set regularly and gone through in full detail, and everything was explained simply so I could understand it quickly. I'd rate my experience a 10 out of 10 - the sessions offer excellent value, the notes were really effective as I could look back through them whenever I wanted, and diagrams and visual representations made everything much clearer. On top of that, the sessions were flexible, often running over time just to make sure everything I needed was covered."
